It’s always a good plan to add and extra 5% to your total for wastage. Better to have more than not enough to finish the job.

Square/Rectangle Area = length x width	Circle Area = 3.14 (pi) x R2
Triangle Area = base x height divided by 2	Trapezoid Area = base 1 + base 2 divided by 2 x height

For irregular areas: as best as you can, divide the area into sections of regular geometric shapes, calculate the area of each section, then total.
